A very nice painting of the Happy Barry Sailor Moon from this page. And a photo of it, to boot. |
There's been another (tiny) update at our friends at Heavy Cat Multimedia's website. As you all know by now, their "Gemini Project" is a Sailor Moon videogame that's being worked on for the current console systems.
The update is rather brief, so there's not much to say on it. But unlike other recent updates, its very positive:
There's a new possibility of major progress happening as early as this week. We may have an unexpected chance make an offer very soon. Once we have a real number, we can decide how to fund the project.
We we wish them luck! And we certainly hope you do too. The inquiry for a donation campaign apparently yielded excellent results as well, although they seem to have stopped requesting e-mails as that article is not to be found now.
Rather than more Pretty Guardian news today, I've randomly selected some information from the Genvid Project's internal databases and pulled it out for you.
Did you know there's a flower named after Sailor Moon?
Indeed, well before Nintendo put out its Pikmin flower there was the "Happy Barry Sailor Moon."
The flower is an Orchid, called a Cymbidium. You can read a lot more about Cymbidiums in general at this page. I'll quote for convenience:
Cymbidiums are a genus of orchids found throughout Asia. They come in to basic types, the ground growers and the epiphytes. Cyms were one of the earliest of Orchids to be hybridized with the amazing results we see today as the culmination of over 100 years of breeding. The last 20 years has seen an amazing increase in interest in the breeding of these plants so vast resource have been put into new development with results that will create a number of completely new lines of breeding that are far superior to the older forms. Improvements include longer flower life, larger flowers, better shaped flowers, perfumed flowers, hardier plants, faster growing plants, plants that produce many flower spikes from a bulb, plants that flower out of season and many other traits to improve the genera.
Cymbidiums are a highly varied genera and plants range from miniatures with 2cm flowers to huge 13cm blooms. Modern breeding has harvested all the possible traits and now there are Cyms of all shapes and sizes. Incredible specimen plants can be grown in a few short years with minimal care.
The Cymbidium reign supreme as the orchid for cooler climates as it tolerates a wide range of climates from temperate to cold.

this and more waiting for you at Suburban Senshi IRC... scratch
that. Just this kind of thing. |
While I'm at it I might as well give a nice plug to Dr. Xadium's Suburban Senshi IRC which has had a number of updates recently.
Partial Parody subs don't count!
If you're going to do a parody, do it all the way.
That's the Suburban Senshi motto.
So join Haruka, Michiru, Chibiusa, Hotaru, Professor Tomoe, and (the great) Dark General Jadeite, as they analyze the latest PGSM episode in the new Suburban Senshi IRC: MiST format.
[This, even though they were supposed to be "PGSM free in 2003." But even Haruka's not perfect, I guess.]
