Currently Japan has been impacted by heavy earthquakes, a tsunami and an endless wave of aftershocks. Although most of the damage has affected the Sendai region all of Japan has been affected as well as many areas of the Pacific. Even the West Coast of the US was hit by waves that pale in comparison to those that have impacted Japan. I urge fans to be wary of news sources when looking into the safety of various Japanese celebrities. Tokyo was impacted but currently does not seem to have reported severe casualties. Bear in mind that people are prioritizing survival and may not have the opportunity to update on a blog, twitter or facebook page. Also please be careful many facebook pages of Japanese celebrities are dubious at the very last. Lastly and most important, if you would like to contribute any financial amount, the Japan Society is collecting donations here https://www.japansociety.org/japan_earthquake_relief_fund . You may also donate to the red cross here http://www.redcross.org/ I am in a state of shock at the moment as the country I called home for two years is suffering. Six months later the same group has held another event in Tokyo proper, which WoL photographer Yosenex and I went to yesterday. The directions to the place were pretty confusing and we were lost for a little while, wandering the streets of Mitaka, an area located slightly west of Shinjuku. Entering a building on an uncrowded side-street, we saw a small color sign near the elevator featuring the same artwork that had been on the March flyer that had been handed out in October.
